Welcome to Our Fifth Edition The first edition of the Part Buyers Authority was issued two years ago. Since then we have learned that people involved in the decision-making process of purchasing, designing or producing a part appreciate a succinct publication that tries to bring clarity to some of the Advanced & Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies that are exploding on production floors today. Our foreward for this issue is by Will Shambley, president of New England Foundry Technologies. Will consults globally on Advanced and Additive Manufacturing technologies in plastics, metal casting, metal forming, composites, and ceramics. Will has been involved in 3D printing of many materials from the beginning and has insight useful for those exploring as well as for early adopters of this technology.
